Oh hi! I’m Ellen. I like to eat food and cook food and cook food and give it to people that I like so that they can eat it too. I always eat vegetarian and most of the time eat vegan, so most of what I write about will fall under those sorts of categories. I’m all about healthy foods. Being an ex-fatty has taught me that I can cook things that are good for me that actually taste like food.
I used to weigh 270 pounds. I was in my early twenties, and miserable. One day I was so very sick of myself, went to a Weight Watchers meeting, then went the next week, and the next… It took me about a year and a half to get to my “goal” weight, which was 140lbs. I’ve been up and down since then (I got too skinny for a while), and have settled into a comfortable weight of around 150 lbs. It was hard work, and it’s still hard work. But my life is completely different now. On the path I was going, I might not have even made it to 30.
Over the past couple of years, I’ve become more and more interested in being healthy. Not just skinny. Not even skinny. You’ll never hear me complaining about how my thigh gap isn’t big enough, or whatever women normally complain about. You might see me talk about my running, though. I actually guarantee you’ll read about my running. I’m not speedy, but I have endurance and like racking up the distance. I’ll let you know about all my races!
This is my blog. Everyone has one. I’m going to talk about food, recipes, health, running, hiking, crafting, reading, and general silliness. I’ll even pretend someone is paying attention!
